Does This Girl Have a Pink Ipod in Her Future?

When the Tweens Tire of Hello Kitty

Female tweens, the young girls who purchased thousands of Hello Kitty items, loved it when they had the ability to purchase a pink iPod. They obtained that ability when the makers of the iPod mini chose to make their products available in a variety of colors, including pink. The girls temporarily lost that ability when the replacement product, the iPod nano, gave customers a more limited choice-black or white.

Then thanks to the creation of Colorware, it again became possible to have a pink iPod. One only needed to go to the web site www.bit-tech.net and place an order. An order placed on that web site would lead to delivery of a colored nano. When the delivery truck pulled-up at the home of a tween girl, then the delivered item was typically a pink iPod.

Colorware made its appearance at about the same time when one California couple purchased a pink baby bed. In fact, the expectant father, found himself buying endless amounts of pink products-pink blankets, pink dresses, pink stuffed animals and even tiny pink hair ribbons. Judging from her early immersion in pink, the couple's baby girl could be expected to want a pink iPod once she had attained the age of a tween (roughly 8-12).

At the present time, no one can say for sure what shape or color the iPod will assume in another 8 to 10 years. Yet even if there were then no Colorware available for the creation of a pink iPod, a tween should still be able to find such an item. Even now Amazon.com has provided a means for the sale of more than one pink iPod.

In other words, 8 to 10 years from now, if a tween girl were to search on the internet for an old Hello Kitty item, or an old pink iPod, she would no doubt find one on Amazon.com, or on some other auction site. She would most likely purchase that iPod, and never think about how that iPod has affected her view of music.

That tween girl would probably not know about the regrets once expressed, while she still drank from a bottle, about the lack of anticipation that accompanied one's purchase of a CD. The writer of those regrets would have recalled a time when one could not play a song until one had purchased a record on which that song had been recorded.
